Incredibly Scalable Cold Emailing While cold emailing doesn’t allow sales reps to control the conversation while on the phone with a prospect, cold emailing has one major advantage over cold calling sales reps can do in a fraction of the time. The scalability of cold email is great for sales teams that don’t have the resources to make a lot of cold calls. You can mail a consolidated email much faster than you can make a cold call, says Heather Morgan, CEO of Sales Cold Email Company. Once you’ve identified the right email template for your audience, assuming you have one with the right targeting, With a high-quality list, there is no difference between sending a letter or an email. The trick is to do your research and not spam. Morgan says the important thing to remember is that you're trying to start a conversation.

Emails should never be self-centered monologues talking aimlessly about a sales rep's company, she says like they actually care about the prospect and their business. That doesn’t work well when you’re harping on yourself. Emails should feel personal and thoughtful and should be targeted to a role if not a specific person. Morgan believes in building well-rounded buyer personas. I like to take a sample of approximately 100 leads from a specific Email Marketing List person or audience, such as the VP of Sales at a company with 100 employees, and research that person thoroughly, she says. I try to get as much information as possible for these people and then try to figure out where there is overlap between them.



Then as long as the audience stays the same I can create really targeted email templates that can scale to hundreds or thousands. Indicates that the goal for most email campaigns should be a response rate between positive and neutral. If the response rate is lower then something is wrong. When asked about her thoughts on cold calling, Morgan said it doesn't hurt to be good at making cold calls. Most sales reps will have to be on the phone with a customer at some point. Still, as people become less willing to answer the phone, many sales reps are becoming less interested in cold calling. Some might say if you can't cold call then don't get into sales but as the world becomes more and more digital I think those salespeople who can't sell digitally via email and social media will be left behind.
